Kauhanganui

The Kauhanganui is a council of elders, kaumatua and kuia. They are the people who advise on the tikanga of Ngati Whatua. They are the custodians of traditional knowledge and customs. The principal function of Te Kauhanganui shall be to advise the Runanga on all matters involving Ngati Whatua lore.
